Makin' a faar

This is from a few weeks ago when we first got the stove up and running. And now it's about 60 degrees outside, but they're cute enough to post anyway.

I am so impressed!
We got a wood burner recently but then the guy came to install it and, apparently, can't - something to do with the chimney/draught. So now we have a redundant stove sitting in the room looking splendid but doing nothing!

Haha! Ours sat in our living room for a month before we got the chimney connected, and it was in the garage for a month before that! Then we had it up and running for about a week and now we're out of wood and J hasn't had any time to go cut more. So we, too, have a stove looking splendid and doing nothing! :D

I'm so jealous. So is Ben. Violet would be, too, if she had any clue what she was missing. :(

Fires provide you with an excuse for being Winterly. That is, bored, but not caring so much that you're bored because you're just cold, and taking care of that Cold Problem by standing in front of the wood stove is the main thing on your mind. It makes you feel like you're doing something when you're actually not. It's so much harder to be Winterly properly when you have central heat. Then, you just wander from room to room not realizing that what you really want is a Hot Spot! That allows the boredom comes to the surface......"Oh yeah, I'm SO frikkin bored!"
