Get your outrage on, ladies

I know that many of my readers do not share my political views, but seriously, this is just plain wrong. Watch and be outraged.

So basically, the insurance industry is resorting to pretty much making stuff up in order to deny coverage. "We'll only cover you if you get sterilized". WTH???

So tell me again why public health insurance-- even with the possibility of waiting periods, long lines, restricted coverage and all the other touted "risks" is any worse? (never mind, don't tell me, i don't really want to get into an argument, i just want to vent) At least then I'll have the option of voting out the the "bureaucrat" that supposedly stands between me and my doctor. Right now it's a faceless corporate lawyer between my doctor and me and my only recourse is to sit and fume....

Wow that does infuriate me. That is insanity. However, I do not think that public healthcare would be better...per your request I'll leave it at that :)

My brain just exploded. o.O On the bright side the blood on my walls neatly covers up the crayon and Sharpie murals courtesy of my eldest!

That's truly horrible, but dealing with a private insurance agency is very different than dealing with the government. Which do you think would leave you with more options? I'll give you a hint...how many private insurance agencies are there? How many government?
Uh-huh.
I really don't think this woman did much looking for insurance. There are tons of companies out there and no reason to settle for answers that aren't workable for you. Just go to the next one. That's what's so great about free enterprise;)

Wow. I have never heard a case quite so ridiculous. Make me want to go toilet paper a CEO's house...Ahem.

And Jenny...I am total and complete agreement.

Wow, that is so very wrong!!! What kind of world are we living in when they can treat people in such a heartless, robotic way??

People shop for the best deals on car insurance.
Shop for health insurance also.
Or do without - like I do.
We have this idea as Americans that everything should be fast, easy, free, fun, and fair. Yeah, whatever.
They told my husband at 30 - after he and his (then) wife were unable to get pregnant, that they would do the fertility testing, but that if his insurance paid for it, he'd have to get a vasectomy.
They did the tests. They determined he was 99% sterile. He had the vasectomy; and his insurance paid for it and the fertility tests.
Kind of messed up, yes. But that is the way of things.
It's...........life.

Outrageous! I can't even believe this.

It is outrageous. As is Hosannah's story.
Just wanting to say though that not all companies would do/require something this crazy and deny for stupid reasons. She really needs to look around.
Also, states can mandate what insurance companies do and don't have to cover. So even though it sounds crazy, I have friends who have specifically moved (or not moved) in order to get a certain type of coverage.
