More hotels

Soooo. Today we are in Penna. :) I know-- we just can't get enough of the travelin' thing! There's gotta be a country song that covers this... Help me out, y'all?

Anyways. My lovely cousin, R., is getting married this Sunday! I am so excited and happy for her. They have a great story and I'm so excited to get to meet her man. The wedding is shaping up to be quite an event, too. We got gift bags, people! Waaahoo! With jam and salt-water taffy. I think she may have even made the jam herself, but I hesitate to claim that on her behalf because that would place her squarely in the crazy-woman-bride category. What bride in her right mind adds "make home-made blueberry jam for guests" to her wedding to-do list? Other than, like, Martha Stewart. And we'll all know how "sane" she is.

I can talk like that about R 'cause I know she's too busy to read my blog for at least a week or two now, and by then she'll be able to laugh about it ;)

So, tonight we have dessert with the family at about 6. This should be beyond fun. My family is one of the loudest, funnest, most dramatic and crazy families I've ever known. And tonight I don't even have to worry about getting the kids to bed on time, because they're home with daddy. Yes. I am completely on my own this trip-- for the first time in a veeeery long time. It feels weird. And a little sad. But I think I'll enjoy it in the long run. Like I said, the whole not getting kids in bed thing? Very nice. And also! J is painting the porch while I'm gone! I don't know which I'm more excited about-- the fact that he's painting it, or the fact that he's doing it while I'm gone!

Hey. Not Fair. Hast thou FORGOT that I made Orange Marmalade - from scratch - with my own two hands - for my wedding favors, less than two years ago? And that they even had little ribbons with tags that said "Happily Ever After" on them, also? I was even making seafood salad the morning of my wedding. I have photos to prove it.
Now, salt water taffy - I cannot do.
And I made gift bags, too , for all our out of town Northern guests.
Just call me Martha from now on....
