Nod hello to a cousin,

Put your arm round your sister,

The guys all line up in a row.

Then toes start a tappin',

And skirts start to swirlin'

And the ladies they strut and twirl.

Little ones join in,

Along with couples young and old.

Take hands with your neighbors,

Shake off your weary labors

So, was this the engagement party?

That looks SO fun! Makes me want to throw a party... I don't have a barn, but I'm sure I have enough Christmas lights to string all over the back yard!

i love dances like these! i wish i could drag aaron to them more, but as the kids (katie mainly) get a little older it'll be easier. the pics are beautiful. what kind of camera do you use? is it just a point and shoot or is it a fancier one with all the zooms and stuff (i have no idea what i'm talking about!)

canningmama, thanks for stopping by, I couldn't access your profile to find your blog or I'd have returned the favor! Hope you check back by :)

My camera is what I would call a "step-up" from a point and shoot. It's a Cannon Power Shot S3. It' does have some pretty fancy features and settings, but I'm still definitely a novice at using them. Mostly I still just fool around with the various presets...

I didn't brave spending the night with the baby who was 6 weeks old at the time. My son and husband stayed and my son, who was just a little over 2, did really well camping....Good luck!! :)

I love the action and movement in your photos; it makes the dance come alive! We're in a suburb of a big city, so we only get to READ about things like this; thanks for giving me an insider's view!

i went to a grange dance once. but i am an avid square and round dancer. that is where i met my husband. we got married on the state's dance festival weekend so for our anniversarry we go dancing thr thru sun dance till you drop. i love it. our club owns an old school house and we dance every sat night. your photos reminded me of one of those great nights.

i love the barefooted dancer, that is me too. twirlin and swingin barefoot, just can't beat that.

thanks for visiting my vacation pics, and yes i love the bike trailer. :^)
